Nigeria has emerged as one of Africa's leading digital economies. The Information and Communication sector contributed about 17–18 per cent of the country's GDP in recent quarters, making it one of its largest non-oil sectors. Lagos has also established itself as one of Africa's leading startup ecosystems, attracting more venture capital than almost any other city on the continent. Every day, young Nigerians build software, launch fintech products, create digital content, provide remote services and develop solutions for businesses worldwide. But while Nigeria generates enormous digital value, it retains only a small share of the wealth that value creates.
