Every Nigerian power conversation returns to the same unfinished promise of more megawatts, stronger transmission, universal metering, cost-reflective tariffs and better-performing distribution companies. These remain necessary priorities. However, Nigeria’s electricity debate is still largely focused on completing a system whose underlying assumptions are already being overtaken by technological and economic change.
