Nigeria’s airspace hums with movement: jets lifting off from Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, linking millions of travellers to destinations across Africa, Europe, and beyond. Aviation fuels commerce, mobility, and opportunity, positioning the country as a natural hub for regional traffic. Despite the busy scene, a subtle imbalance persists. The skies are dominated primarily by foreign airlines. In 2025, Ethiopian Airlines alone will operate about 27 weekly flights from Nigeria, while domestic airlines hold less than 10% of the market share.
